Organ Transplant Statistics for the US

The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), a nonprofit charitable organization, maintains the nation’s organ transplant waiting list under contract with the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. UNOS collects data on graft and patient survival rates. The following table outlines statistics as of September 2007.

These numbers may differ from other sources, depending on the transplantation population studied (worldwide, European, US, etc.), definition of “survival” and other variables associated with following patients over time.
